Job Description:
TheDirector of MMIC Design Engineering will lead all product research anddevelopment efforts within the MACOM European Semiconductor Centre (MESC) andwill be responsible for leading a team of engineers who will develop leadingedge products while meeting project timelines. A key focus of the role isto provide strong technical leadership along with effective project management.
Thesuccessful individual will have a strong technical knowledge and have ademonstrated history of leading engineering teams in the development of microwaveand millimeter-wave integrated circuited using Gallium Arsenide (GaAs), GalliumNitride (GaN), Silicon Germanium (SiGe) or Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI)technologies.
The candidatewill drive the development of new IP, the feasibility studies, the selection ofintegrated circuit architectures, the design execution and schedules as well ascoordinate with other cross-functional team during the various developmentphases from device concept to production release. The candidate will alsoprovide mentorship and work with individual contributors and managers ondefining goals for career development and growth.
Responsibilities:
Attract, develop, and retain top talent for the R&D organization, while motivating the development team to continually improve their performance.
Partner with our Fab and Operations team to ensure new MMIC designs are released into production meeting yield, cost, and quality targets.
Help establish and manage the R&D yearly operating budget.
Keep up with industry/technology direction and trends and support product line in developing a portfolio of products that are differentiated and provide competitive advantage for the company.
Work jointly with marketing/quality teams to resolve product technical issues during and after customer design in and work with customers as needed.
DesiredSkills and Experience:
PhD or master’s degree inelectrical engineering or equivalent
Minimum of 15 years of experiencein R&D within global company that develops and manufactures highfrequency integrated circuits for microwave and millimeter waveapplications.
In-depth understanding of highfrequency semiconductor circuit design fundamentals.
Experience with the applicationsof high frequency integrated circuits – communications, radar, etc.
Demonstrated capability to driveteams to successful product introduction through best-in-class execution.
Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills in French and English.
Demonstrated capability toattract and retain talent.
